I was lucky enough to play with clay in my

friend Connie Norman's studio in Cheyenne this fall. She has this genius method for making little plates, pressing textures into the clay. I messed around with them for a few hours, then promptly forgot about them. Connie was kind enough to fire, glaze and then send the ones I made! Surprise! The glazes are so beautiful, I don't know if I can bring myself to eat off them. She also included a very generous gift of one of her bowls. I now have THREE of her pieces, and consider myself a Connie Norman collector! She is an amazing artist, who is also a full time art teacher and new mom. Incredible. See better photos of her clever, well-crafted, beautifully texted artwork here:

I'm so glad that they arrived safe and sound. I should have sent more of the plates out to you, but I didn't have a big enough box. Enjoy them!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are SOOOO Fabulous! I completely suck at throwing but hand building is right up my alley. LOVE the textures!
