I brought my sketchbook up with me to work on some stuff while Scarlet took a bath and I was struggling. She won't stay still long enough for me to draw her so I ended up drawing the bathroom sink...not very exciting but it never hurts to practice. Then I realized--I have a great subject right in front of me--just not the right media...so I grabbed the camera and here is one of my favorites.
She insists on wearing her suit in the tub lately. Thinking about starting a photo series project with Scarlet as my main subject. Not sure how to approach it yet though...
She looks so serene!!
ReplyDeleteVery 30's movie star with the flowing hair. Good mermaid impression.
:)
ps- What about something along the lines of a photo a day? Something inspired by the book you posted? too mainstream?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Scarlet could take the photo? Or contribute/collaborate some way?
oooh a photo a day...maybe I should try small and shoot for one month...or maybe I should start smaller and try for a week! the hard part is getting a photo that isn't a "snapshot"--something meaningful ya know? Not just a pic of a cute kid...I love the idea of Scarlet taking pics too...Hmmmmm...no time like the present! I'm gonna give it a shot (no pun intended!) starting today-a test run. I will use the good camera and it takes a bit to upload so If all goes well next sunday I'll upload one for each day. Thanks Kris! I need to get off my arse (artisticallly speaking)!
ReplyDeleteI love these images. Can she be a metaphor for birds, flight, nesting? GIVE her the camera. Kids take great pictures.
ReplyDeleteAh well...I took a weeks worth of pics but ended up with little more than snapshots...not really worth posting. It has given me some ideas though--we'll see what comes of it.
